Oktoberfest: 22 Essential Tips For First-time Visitors To Munich’s Volksfest

The hotels where Bucket List Events guests stay are just a few blocks from the Oktoberfest grounds. When there is a dinner reservation or beer tent, our staff will guide you to your destination. If you want to venture out on your own, your hotel is just a few blocks from a train stop that can give you access to the rest of the city. You’ll also find that many of the main tourist spots will be equipped with signage in English. You might hear English-language announcements at train stations, and most food stalls, beer shops, and busier restaurants offer menus in English and German. You don’t have to dress up, but we definitely recommend it.

All city dwellers were invited to attend the festival, which took place in the fields outside the city gates. We photographed nine Oktoberfest attendees and asked a panel of experts to rate their traditional clothing. At the snack viaggi oktoberfest stalls, vegetarians can choose dishes such as Schupfnudeln, Flammbrot or potato pies. Many tents and snack stalls also cater to vegans and serve dishes such as sauerkraut strudel, fried vegetables and apple slices in a beer dough.

We already talked about the Dirndl for women, but let’s not forget the Lederhosen. However, there are many Bavarians who believe that only a real Bavarian should use Lederhosen. If you’re looking for a premium beer festival experience, you’ll love our tours and packages. For the ladies, that means a traditional Bavarian dirndl: white blouse, knee-length dress, apron and comfortable shoes that you are not afraid to spill beer. Going to Oktoberfest has been on my list of things to do for a while, but I haven’t researched anything about it. Now all the information I need is in this post.

It’s really like attending a big provincial fair. It’s not as stressful or crazy as I thought it would be and now I wish I had spent much less time worrying and worrying about finding a place to sit in stores. We love Spatenbrau because of the very local atmosphere. If you want to meet other foreigners and not be surrounded by locals, plus you get a lot of beer spilled and have to fight for a table, then Hofbrau is the tent for you.

To be technical, maß is the term used to describe a liter of beer. Maß is also used as an abbreviation for maßkrug, the word used to describe the liter-sized real glass cup from which you drink. While you have some choice about what to drink at Oktoberfest, your beer options will be very limited. Each beer tent is run by a specific brewery that serves a specific fest beer. Go to Oktoberfest early enough in the day and chances are you’ll even see a school trip at Oktoberfest. But the next time I see this, I’m definitely going to ask all my many questions.

The atmosphere in many of the festival tents is vibrant, funny, stimulating and a bit drunk. People from all over the world sing festival hits, toast to each other’s health and crawl up while waving to the music. That’s why Oktoberfest has some of the best conditions for flirting. Most Bavarians will have some very high-quality outfits and if you’re seen walking around in 20 euro fabric pants, it’s pretty obvious that you’re not from here.
